It broke, well, part of it did. Right after he got it, nearly. The backbone of it stayed alright. It was strong and sturdy, and it wouldn’t break. The two strands that were woven across it were what came apart. A green one, a yellow one, together but coming apart. They frayed and twisted out away from the backbone.

And finally he pulled them out entirely, entwined them, and threw them in the bin, keeping the base intact for next time.
